Brice & Brice Ice Sculptures

Classes

Home

Ice sculpting classes are taught inside the Aurora Ice Museum at Chena Hot Springs by NICA certified Master, Steve Brice. The classes will be a 3 day workshop with the latest ice tools and techniques, many of which were developed by Steve. The format will be modified to suit the novice to the master. The advanced course will focus on competition level tools, tricking out available tools to maximize their potential and comfort; ice sculpting designs, strategies, and techniques. A major portion of the sculpting will focus on human anatomy applying the consept of 'Form before detail'. Shortcuts and methods for simplifying aspects of the human anatomy, along with pointing out common mistakes that even the high level carvers make, will improve your level of carving. For the novice carver more emphasis will be put on tools and techniques to easily shape ice, ways to fuse ice effectively, aspects of competitions and business, and safety around this dangerous medium. The 3 day workshop is limited to 4 people as a maximum and 2 people as a minimum. Housing and food will be provided for the duration of the workshop. For classes with 3 or 4 students there will be additional help teaching the class by 4 time World Champion and partner Heather Brice. Tools will be available for use if desired. The 3 day workshop is 1800$ with a 50% deposit to secure the date and the rest is to be paid before the first day. One on one classes can be scheduled if desired, the cost is 2100$, additional days can be negotiated.

1 day or 2 day classes are also possible.
